Senator Bruce Ennis is a lifelong resident of Smyrna who has represented his hometown in the Delaware General Assembly for nearly four decades. After graduating from John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna, Ennis joined the Delaware Air National Guard and later spent 20 years as a trooper in the Delaware State Police, where he retired at the rank of captain. He is a life member of the Citizens’ Hose Co. fire department in Smyrna, having served in numerous administrative and line officer positions over the past 60 years, including fire chief and president. He also is active in the Delaware Volunteer Firefighter’s Association and the Delmarva Volunteer Firemen’s Association.
