(GEORGETOWN, Del.) - Michelle Small leaves the Sussex County Courthouse with tears streaming down her face.
Police say she was speeding and driving drunk when she slammed her Mini Cooper into Ed's Chicken and Crabs early on August 9th.
This photo shows the impact and Small's car on fire -- still inside the building.
Small says two words in Superior Court, and that's her 'not guilty' plea.
WRDE tried to speak with Small, but her attorney said, "Ma'am, we don't have any comments."
It's the 36-year-old's first DUI offense.
Police say Small hit a propane line when she crashed into the restaurant.
That hit caused an explosion which destroyed the 38-year old business.
Ed Riggin, the restaurant's owner, says it destroyed his lifestyle.
Police say they were able to rescue Small just moments before the building went up in flames.
You can see firemen working to put out the fire in this surveillance video and the $75,000 in damage after that alleged drunken drive.
Officials say Small's case is moved to Superior Court because of how much damage the victim faced from the crash and resulting explosion.
Michelle Small's released from the courthouse on unsecured bail with her attorney at her side.
The judge says she's free to drive a car, but it is unclear what price Small will pay for her role in destroying a beloved Dewey Beach business.
Michelle Small's expected back in court on January 17, 2017.
