People in the neighborhood were shocked to hear the news.

"I'm absolutely shocked, I had no idea this was going on. We have kids, there's a ton of kids in this neighborhood," expressed neighbor Bruce McKeldin.

Several neighbors tell WRDE, they haven't seen Joy around the neighborhood.

But hearing this made neighbors from the family-friendly development of Victoria Falls feel unsettled.

"I'll tell you it's a wonderful place to live the people are always friendly that's what I'm really shocked to hear what you're saying, that someone would do something like that," said neighbor Josephine Moskal.

Joy is currently being held without bail at the Wicomico County Detention Center.

If she is convicted she could face up to life in prison.
