SNOW HILL, Md - The Worcester County Commissioners on Thursday rescinded the ban on all short-term rentals in West Ocean City, Ocean Pines, and all other unincorporated areas of the county. This is part of Gov. Larry Hogan's announcement that he is lifting his stay-at-home order effective at 5 p.m. Friday as the state begins the first phase of reopening.
Lifting of the ban allows hotels, motels, and other lodging establishments to resume operations.
"As residents and visitors make their way back to our shores, we trust short-term rental operators to implement reopening plans that remain consistent with CDC guidelines for protecting public health," Commission President Joe Mitrecic said. "So that we may once again get back to the business of being a world-class destination."
The short-term rental ban went into effect on April 1.
