The Point

Delaware State Parks rely on user fees for about 75 percent of the operating and maintenance budget and the money saved with this policy helps to fund other programs and facilities said the park.

LEWES, Del.- All of the Point at Cape Henlopen State Park is reopen as shorebirds have migrated south for the winter.

The Point has closed annually each March for the benefit of threatened and endangered beach-nesters and migratory shorebirds, including red knot, piping plovers, oystercatchers, least terns and other species. Part of the beach reopened in September.

The bayside beach was closed until October 1st. It's now open for public use.
