LEWES, Del. - L. Echevarría Attorneys at Law stands out as Delaware's only Latina-owned law firm, with Attorney Laneyscha Echevarría Méndez at the leadership, offering specialized services in real estate, corporate, and contract law.

After Hurricane Irma and Maria devastated Puerto Rico in 2017, Attorney Echevarría Méndez moved to Delaware to prepare for her bar exam, unaware of the significant impact she would soon have on the community.

"Once I landed here, law firms in Georgetown heard about it, and they just started calling. They were like, 'We need you here. There's nobody else speaking Spanish. Can you join us? Can you join us? Can you join us?' and I ended up in one of the biggest law firms down there in Georgetown," Attorney Echevarría Méndez said.

Her work soon revealed the critical need for legal services within the Hispanic community, highlighting a need for more understanding about legal rights and processes among many.

"I started noticing that there was a need for my services. There were a lot of Hispanics in need of legal services, but they had no idea what they were signing. They had no idea what their rights were. They had no idea they had the right to purchase a property and to have a home," Attorney Echevarría Méndez said.

"Being able to empower our community with knowledge and with access is the biggest dream I can ever think of," Attorney Echevarría Méndez said.

Attorney Echevarría Méndez's team includes three bilingual Hispanics and one Delawarean, all committed to meeting the diverse legal needs of the area and breaking down language barriers to ensure accessible legal services.
