LEWES, Del. – The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park are inviting the community to celebrate National Trails Day with beach and trail cleanups on Saturday, June 7.

Participants are asked to meet at 8:45 a.m. at the Hawk Watch Pavilion in Cape Henlopen State Park. According to the group, volunteers will assist in clearing litter and debris from the trails and shoreline areas.

The event is free and open to the public, and registration is not required. The group asks volunteers to wear closed-toe shoes, use bug repellent, bring gloves, dress for the weather, and carry a bag for collecting trash. Cleanup tools will be provided for participants.

Participants will be offered a free BBQ lunch provided by the Rehoboth Village Improvement Association. Attendees will also be offered a commemorative t-shirt, while supplies last.

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park reminds participants that state park fees will be in effect.
