DELAWARE - Currently, for low-income Delawareans, there is a shortage of over 19,000 affordable rental units, according to the Delaware State Housing Authority.
The DSHA is currently working on its latest Delaware Housing Needs Assessment, which is a study used by housing agencies, local jurisdictions, and other partners in prioritizing housing, housing-related services, and developing public policy proposals.
According to the DSHA, there is a shortage of 19,433 affordable rental units. For zero to 30 percent area medium-income households, 13,617 units are short in the state. There are 5,816 units short for 31 to 50 percent area medium-income households.
