REHOBOTH BEACH, De - The replica of the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse stands in the circle on the west end of Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. The current home is not its original home. The replica was built by a realtor in the city in 1924 and it was placed outside his office on the first block of the Avenue. The city's Village Improvement Association (VIA) bought the replica in 1928 and moved it to Grove Street. The transferred ownership of the lighthouse to the city in 1971. 33 years later another relocation occurred. This time to the circle where it greets visitors and residents of the "Nation's Summer Capital."
