The Delmarva Chicken Association awarded $23,500 in scholarships to 12 students through its DCA College Scholarship Program. 

DELMARVA, - The Delmarva Chicken Association awarded $23,500 in scholarships to 12 students through its DCA College Scholarship Program.

“By supporting these students, DCA is nurturing the next generation of leaders in our chicken community,” said Holly Porter, DCA’s executive director.

Ten undergraduate students each received $2,000

  • Brielle Carter, University of Delaware

  • Macy Cook, University of Mount Olive

  • Mason Jewell, University of Kentucky

  • Avery Kerrick, University of Kentucky

  • Luke Michaud, University of Kentucky

  • Colleen Nicholson, Louisiana State University

  • Cailyn Pan, University of Pennsylvania

  • Mackenzie Spies, University of Maryland

  • McKenna Vest, Texas A&M University

  • Karley White, University of Delaware

  • Ean Ali Nasir, Salisbury School — received a $500 “pick of the flock” scholarship; plans to attend University of Maryland Eastern Shore

  • Unishma Ghimire, University of Maryland Eastern Shore — received the $3,000 Emerson Morgan Graduate Scholarship

Since 1985, DCA has awarded $270,500 through the program. Scholarships are funded by the DCA College Scholarship Golf Tournament, set for Sept. 29 at GlenRiddle Golf Club in Berlin.
