Safe Driving

Maryland State Police to increase patrols along U.S. highways over New Year's Eve weekend.

Maryland- As the countdown to New Years continues, the Maryland State Police is urging drivers to prioritize smart and safe celebrations. In an effort to enhance public safety during the holiday weekend, police have declared an increased patrol presence throughout Maryland. With a specific focus on combating impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving, troopers will be conducting saturation patrols on roads that have historically seen a high incidence of DUI events.

Along the Eastern Shore, drivers can expect heightened visibility of troopers from the Berlin, Centreville, Easton, Princess Anne, and Salisbury barracks. The increased patrols will be concentrated along major U.S. routes such as 50, 13, and 413. By intensifying law enforcement efforts during this festive period, the Maryland State Police aims to promote responsible driving behavior and ensure a safer environment for all road users. As revelers usher in the New Year, the message is clear: celebrate responsibly and prioritize safety on the roads.
