According to Avelo, routes that have been seasonally suspended are on break due to scheduled heavy maintenance on planes and the delayed arrival of a new plane. Because demand is typically lower in the first quarter, Avelo chose to use this time to lessen frequencies and prepare for planes to be in a good position for peak spring and summer travel.
Additionally, the Wilmington-Melbourne route will end effective Jan. 6, 2024, due to low demand. Avelo said customers with tickets to this destination booked past Jan. 6 have been notified with options for a refund or to reaccommodate to Orlando.
