MILFORD, Del. - A 16-year-old boy from Harrington has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery at a GameStop in Milford.
On June 7 around 6:04 p.m., officers of the Milford Police Department were dispatched to the store, located in the 900 block of North DuPont Boulevard, for a report of an armed robbery. Witnesses said a boy wearing a blue hoodie and black mask entered the store and displayed what appeared to be a handgun while demanding money. He left the store without taking anything.
Police say the boy discarded the weapon, later identified as a BB gun, behind the building before fleeing in a red Ford Escape. A search by Milford officers, the department’s K9 unit and Delaware State Police Aviation was unsuccessful in locating him that evening said police.
Investigators later identified the teenager and took him into custody without incident at his home in Harrington.
He is charged with:
Attempted robbery first degree (felony)
Aggravated menacing (felony)
Wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony (felony)
Tampering with physical evidence (felony)
The teen was presented in Justice of the Peace Court 7 and issued $74,000 unsecured bail. He was ordered to be monitored by GPS under Juvenile Probation and was released to a guardian. He will appear at a later date in Kent County Family Court.
