ANGOLA, Del. — Delaware State Police found police-involved shooting suspect, Jason Arnold, dead inside a home on Blackwood Drive in Angola from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to police, the scene is secure and there is no threat to the public.

Police say a 69-year-old woman in a neighboring home was injured, though it's unclear at this time if the injury was related to the exchange of gunfire. She was treated at a local hospital and has been released.

The incident began on June 22, at about 11 p.m. when troopers responded to a house on Cea Dag Circle in Dagsboro for a welfare check. DSP reports that when Arnold stopped, he shot at both the Millsboro officer and trooper. Both officers returned fire and struck the suspect. No officers were injured throughout the incident.

An autopsy will be completed by the Division of Forensic Science and DSP's Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate.
