ANGOLA, Del. ā Delaware State Police found police-involved shooting suspect, Jason Arnold, dead inside a home on Blackwood Drive in Angola from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to police, the scene is secure and there is no threat to the public.
Police say a 69-year-old woman in a neighboring home was injured, though it's unclear at this time if the injury was related to the exchange of gunfire. She was treated at a local hospital and has been released.

According to State Police, Jason Arnold was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts. (Delaware State Police)
Late Monday morning, police believed Arnold was barricaded alone inside. Sussex County property records show that Arnold currently owns the home. Earlier this morning, from the CoastCopter, police machinery could be seen breaching a window on the front of the home.

The incident began on June 22, at about 11 p.m. when troopers responded to a house on Cea Dag Circle in Dagsboro for a welfare check. Police say Arnold was reportedly threatening to harm himself and family. While police were on the way, Arnold was said to be headed to a home on Blackwood Drive. An officer of the Millsboro Police found the suspect's car and attempted to pull him over. The suspect fled, leading to a pursuit.
DSP reports that when Arnold stopped, he shot at both the Millsboro officer and trooper. Both officers returned fire and struck the suspect. No officers were injured throughout the incident.
An autopsy will be completed by the Division of Forensic Science and DSP's Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate.
