The Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company said they found one mare dead during the Sunday Northern Herd Roundup. With the roundup now complete, the rest of the stallions, mares and foals were safely brought into the north corral.

One of the all-time great football players at Salisbury University will be closer to his home area. According to the Associated Press, Dan Quinn will be hired as the new head coach for Washington.
Quinn, 53, spent the past three seasons running the defense for the NFC East-rival Cowboys after five-plus seasons coaching the Atlanta Falcons. Quinn coached the Falcons to a Super Bowl appearance in 2016 before being fired after an 0-5 start in 2020.
Seaford native Darnell Savage made the play that essentially sent the Green Bay Packers to the NFC Divisional round of the playoffs. With Green Bay leading 20-0 against the Cowboys late in the second quarter, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw a pass over the middle. Savage stepped in front of it for the interception and then raced 64 yards into the endzone for a touchdown and 27-0 Packer lead.
