Georgetown's Caroling on the Circle was a success for participants, festival-goers and local food pantries. Thousands of people are estimated to have turned out for the 40th annual downtown holiday season celebration, which preceded the annual Christmas parade for the first time. Additionally, event organizers said nearly 15,000 nonperishable items have been collected so far this season.

Each Giving Tuesday, donors face the threat of scams diverting millions of dollars of money intended for legitimate charities. To avoid scams, donors are advised to check on charity legitimacy and follow other tips to keep their money and identities safe.

A sculpture of Harriet Tubman, known as "The Beacon of Hope," embarked on a symbolic journey across the Delaware Bay aboard the Cape May-Lewes Ferry on Thursday. "Our ferry route is very similar to one used by escaped enslaved people who would wait for moonless nights to row across the Delaware Bay using the lighthouse for guidance," said one ferry official.

The contest showcased over 200 photographs from 38 photographers, with winners commended for their ability to evoke emotional responses and tell stories through their images.
