The Mayor and City Council voted to ban the retail sale of marijuana within city limits. However, they will continue to consider cultivation, manufacturing, and testing facilities.
Under the Marijuana Control Act, Sussex County is not given the authority to prohibit marijuana establishments within its boundaries, but it can still regulate how and where marijuana can be cultivated, manufactured and sold.
