A mariner is safe after getting rescued from a burning sailboat Thursday night. The Coast Guard says the 45-foot vessel was on fire nearly 60 miles east of Chincoteague.
An unusual sight of a sailboat washed ashore Lewes Beach could be seen Oct. 9, near Delaware Avenue.
Two men and a pet dog were rescued from a sailboat without power or fuel more than 200 miles off Delaware.
On June 16 flames were shooting out of the sailboat, the Coup de Te'te, piloted by members of the Lewes based Sea Scout Ship 198. According to boatswain, 17 year old Chris Marshall, the situation lasted approximately 20 seconds.
