Seventy-two years after 11 African American students attempted to integrate Milford High School, community leaders, educators and one of the original students gathered Tuesday to honor their place in Delaware history.

On Sept. 8, 1954, 11 African American 10th-grade students were admitted to Milford High School on Lakeview Avenue.
People quickly filed in to in Rehoboth Beach to cause some good trouble Thursday evening. Good trouble is a saying famously used by civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis who passed away on July 17, 2020. Lewis was a civil rights leader, politician, minister and agent of change for decades.
The Milford Museum is set to host the premiere screening of "In Due Course: Integrating Milford High School" at the Milford Public Library on April 6, which highlights segregation and the effect it had on the city.
