A man accused of a shooting in Denton earlier this month has been extradited back to Caroline County and is now facing multiple charges, including attempted second-degree murder.
Detectives have identified the suspect responsible for the shooting in the parking lot of the Big Chill Surf Catina as Jonathan Blackwell. Blackwell was taken into custody on June 30.
On Thursday, February 29, 2024, Sturgis was taken into custody at Troop 4 headquarters. He was charged with multiple offenses, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution under a $6,000 secured bond.
