LAUREL, Del. – Two teens have been arrested following a Tuesday afternoon shooting in Laurel.
On Tuesday May 20, officials say Delaware State Police and Laurel Police Department responded to the 30000 block of Seaford Road for a shooting report at 12:20 p.m. When police arrived, they learned two teens were walking on Seaford Road while a car was traveling near Discount Land Road.
Delaware State Police say the preliminary investigation revealed that one of the suspects fired an unknown number of shots at the car as it passed by. Police say the vehicle was not hit and no one was hurt.
According to Delaware State Police, a 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, both from Laurel, were identified as suspects. Troopers and officers found the teens during a search of the area, and they were taken into custody without incident.
The shooting prompted a temporary “Secure and Hold” at North Laurel Early Learning Academy.
The two teens were taken to Troop 5 and charged with several felony offenses.
Delaware State Police say the 14-year-old was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center on a $125,000 cash bond. Charges include:
Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
Possession of Ammunition by a Person under 18 (Felony)
Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony) – 3 counts
Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
Officials say the 15-year-old was also arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center on a $125,000 cash bond. Charges include:
