The Delaware School Safety Center is reminding families about important safety steps that can help children throughout the school year. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to review safety routines with children before the first day of school.

Milford schools were on lockdown Thursday afternoon and officers were on scene after a "credible threat" against the district. 

According to troopers, the victim was rushed to an area hospital by her parent, where she received treatment for serious injuries sustained to her head.
