Volunteers from the Bunker Busters of the Fort Miles Historical Association, a nonprofit organization, and the Lewes Junction Railroad & Bridge Association have updated the historic railroad swing bridge at American Legion Road.
According to DelDOT, the removal of the 1916 Lewes Junction Railroad swing bridge is on hold.

Three years after the Delaware Department of Transportation decommissioned the 1916 Lewes Junction Railroad swing bridge, it will be carried to its final resting place, where it's legacy can live on forever.
The Lewes Railroad swing bridge will be moved from the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal to its permanent new location Wednesday.
