The NASA Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia is launching a sounding rocket carrying experiments from eight different student teams this Tuesday, Aug. 12 for the RockSat-X mission.
Moments after the launch window opened at 5:30 am Thursday morning, the Terrier-improved Orion sounding rocket blasted off from the NASA facility. It is carrying several experiments from mostly college students. It is part of a program called RockSat-C.
The launch window opens on April 8, 2024, at 2:40 p.m. EDT, coinciding with the day's solar eclipse.
