Delmarva will enjoy a mostly sunny and pleasant Friday with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s before a warming trend takes hold this weekend. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s Saturday, then surge into the mid 80s to low 90s from Sunday through the middle of next week. Mostly dry weather is expected through the next several days, though isolated showers or storms are possible Sunday and a better chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives late Wednesday into Thursday as a cold front brings temperatures closer to normal.

The stretch of dangerously hot weather continues through Wednesday, as a ridge of high pressure over the western Atlantic pushes inland, continuing the heat wave across the region. Temperatures are forecast to be in the 90s around 100, with heat index values between 100 and 110 degrees across most inland areas this afternoon and evening.

Patchy fog gives way to partly sunny skies and warm temperatures. A mix of isolated showers and storms will punctuate the rest of the week as multiple upper-level systems move through the region, bringing cooler temperatures and increased rain chances into the weekend.
