Kid playing on climbing equiptment

MILTON, Del.- After approximately a year of fundraising and dedicated labor, the Women's Club of Milton, in collaboration with the Town of Milton, has successfully completed the installation of two new pieces of adaptive play equipment.

A commemorative presentation took place at Memorial Park in Milton to unveil the two new additions: a multi-sensory climber and an adaptable swing. The all-inclusive climbing equipment offers different climbing levels and sensory features for all children to enjoy as they climb up.

Debby Pecoraro, President of the Women's Club in Milton, spoke about the adaptable swing, saying, "Take this part out, put your child in. It snaps them snuggly, safely; they can hold their arms on here and swing without concern of falling and feel more secure."

The decision to purchase this equipment stemmed from a pressing need within the Milton community. As reported by CoastTV earlier this year, this addition will benefit numerous local families.

Debby Pecoraro explained the motivation behind the project, saying, "There have been children in town that had to travel all the way to Milford for such equipment, and we said it's a shame we don't have it here in our town, and that's how we chose our project for the town."

The Women's Club of Milton organized various fundraisers to ensure that all children in town have a safe place close to home.

Mayor John Collier expressed his gratitude, stating, "I'm very thankful for the Women's Club in Milton and their generous donation. Any time we can do things to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Milton, we're happy to do them."

Mayor John Collier further noted, "This has been a labor of love across the board. From the volunteers to the elected officials to even the town staff, everybody has made an effort to make this possible."

Even on the day of the unveiling, children were already making good use of this new playground.
