GEORGETOWN, Del.- Beloved Probation and Parole Officer Todd Mumford was laid to rest on Saturday, after dying unexpectedly in an off-duty accident.

In a Facebook Post, the Delaware FOP State Lodge said Saturday's service at Crossroad Community Church was emotional, but full of support, with Governor John Carney leading a contingent of elected officials who came to pay their respects.

The Lodge added that Governor Carney took a moment to meet privately with members of Delaware FOP Lodge 10: Probation and Parole, offering words of encouragement and solace during this challenging time.

The FOP also expressed gratitude to a number of partner law enforcement agencies for their support.

"We are saddened at the loss of our friend, but following the lead of Todd's courageous family, we will stand together and remain #FOPSTRONG," the post reads.
