We Salute Colonel Elmer Newton (Newt) Tyndall. As a Retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, he epitomized dedication and heroism throughout his distinguished thirty-year military career. Serving in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and during the Cold War, he was among the first Master Navigators and played a pivotal role in major conflicts, including flying 25 combat missions with the 58th Bomb Wing during World War II. His achievements earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. After his military service, he continued to inspire as a volunteer with the Commemorative Air Force, sharing his passion for aviation and history.
