MILTON, Del. - The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced the closure of Cave Neck Road between Diamond Farm Road and Hudson Road for bridge repairs starting May 19. The work is expected to continue through late August, weather permitting.
The bridge, originally built in 1913, will undergo structural improvements including the installation of steel sheet pile wingwalls with concrete copings, a moment slab, and a new guardrail.
During the closure, westbound drivers on Cave Neck Road will turn left onto Hudson Road, right onto Walker Road, and right onto Diamond Farm Road to return to Cave Neck Road. Eastbound drivers will turn right onto Diamond Farm Road, left onto Walker Road, and left onto Hudson Road to return to Cave Neck Road.
