MILLSBORO, Del. - A 45-year-old Millsboro man died after being hit by a Jeep Cherokee late Monday night on Route 113.

The Millsboro Police Department said the crash happened at about 11:16 p.m. Aug. 3, on the southbound side of Route 113. Investigators said the man was in the left southbound travel lane when a Jeep Cherokee driving south approached. For reasons that remain under investigation, the Jeep hit the man.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The southbound roadway was closed for about three hours.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit assisted the Millsboro Police Department with the investigation.
