DOVER, Del.- The Dover Motor Speedway chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities is hosting a "Laps for Charity" event on Saturday, July 20, giving fans the unique opportunity to drive their own vehicles on the famed Monster Mile.

The Monster Mile, known as the World’s Fastest One-Mile Oval, has been a racetrack for top drivers since 1969. This year, the Speedway offers fans several ways to experience what top NASCAR drivers do in a race:

  • Regular Session: For $75 per vehicle, participants can follow a Dover track vehicle for five laps.
  • VIP Session: For $125, drivers can enjoy eight laps on the track with individual pacing behind a track vehicle.
  • Pace Car Passenger: For $50 per person, ride shotgun in Dover’s Ford Mustang Mach-1 pace car for five laps.
  • Photo at the Monster Monument: Capture your experience with a photo in front of the iconic 46-foot tall Monster Monument at Victory Plaza for $25 per vehicle. Photos will be available for download post-event.
  • Track Treasures Trailer: Pick up NASCAR collectibles, autographed items, clothing, and more at varying prices near the Monster Monument.

The Dover Motor Speedway encourages pre-registration to secure a spot on the track. That can be done at Speedway Charities' website. Walk-ups are welcome, but those who register early will receive priority access. Even car clubs can get exclusive access if requested.

Since its establishment in 1982 by Speedway Motorsports, Speedway Children’s Charities has raised over $69 million in grants to aid organizations supporting children in need across the U.S., focusing on local and mid-Atlantic nonprofits.
