MILTON, Del. - Dr. Nikki Miller is running again for Delaware’s 20th District seat.
On Wednesday, the longtime educator and former Cape Henlopen High School principal filed to run in the 2026 election for the seat. Miller confirmed that she hopes to run in District 20's special election once the filing period opens. The seat was recently vacated following the resignation of Rep. Stell Parker Selby, who was absent for the entirety of this year’s legislative session.
"I'm actually really excited for the opportunity of a special [election] because I think that is something that a lot of people don't get the chance to do, and so I will be able to learn, hopefully, if I am the selected candidate," Miller told CoastTV. "Now that I know what a regular campaign looks like, [I'll learn] how to accelerate that."
Miller lost to Parker Selby by just 275 votes in the 2024 General Election.
Miller's campaign emphasizes the need for "thoughtful investment" in the district’s roads, schools, and healthcare systems and promised to bring "real-world experience, not partisan rhetoric" to Dover.
“This campaign isn’t about left or right — it’s about doing what’s right for the people of Sussex County,” she said.
