Sean Davis, pastor at Ocean City Baptist Church, said Easter marks a significant moment in the coastal town. “Easter’s an exciting time in Ocean City because it’s really the start of the season,” Davis said. “Spring’s here. You start to see a lot of visitors start to come in.”

From sunrise services to post-church brunches, visitors and locals alike took advantage of the holiday weekend to enjoy everything from beachfront buffets to family-friendly activities. At the Carousel Oceanfront Hotel, families filled the Reef 118 Oceanfront Restaurant for a special Easter buffet and a visit from the Easter Bunny — a favorite among kids, according to General Manager Liz Acker.

“We had photos with the bunny so family members and kids could get photos, after the Easter egg hunt that we had right here on the property.” Acker said.
“The bunny definitely brings a great reaction from the children,” Acker said. “We had photos with the bunny so family members and kids could get photos, after the Easter egg hunt that we had right here on the property.”
As Easter weekend drew visitors back into town, local businesses began reopening their doors and preparing for the months ahead. “With the weather getting warmer and people wanting to venture out — they’ve been stuck in the house all winter — Ocean City is definitely a destination where they want to come,” Acker said. “We’re anticipating large crowds from here on out.”
The town itself is also gearing up, with Springfest — one of Ocean City’s signature events — set to begin April 24.
