LEWES, Del. - The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced overnight lane closures and a full closure of the Lewes Drawbridge on Savannah Road Wednesday, May 21, due to emergency repairs on the bridge decking.

The westbound lane will close at midnight and be under flagger control. A full closure of the bridge will begin at 2 a.m. Thursday, with the road expected to reopen by 5 a.m.

During the closure, drivers should follow the detour via Theo C. Freeman Memorial Highway says DelDOT. People traveling through the area are urged to use caution and reduce speed in work zones.
