Fenwick Island moving along in the process of banning the sale of marijuana within town limits

FENWICK ISLAND, Del. - The town of Fenwick Island had a charter and ordinance meeting this afternoon.

At the meeting they unanimously voted to pass along the proposed ordinance banning the sale of marijuana within town limits to town council for first reading.

The town of Fenwick Island cites wanting to keep the family atmosphere and character of Fenwick intact as the motive behind wanting the ban.

The mayor of Fenwick Island, Natalie Magdeburger said they have heard support for this possible ordinance

"I have not been approached by anyone that has suggested that we should do anything but prohibit the sale, certainly if someone does we'd love to hear from you," Magdeburger said.

The ordinance will be heard and possibly passed to law at the next town council meeting on October 27 at town hall.
