MILFORD, Del.— The Food Bank of Delaware is accepting applications for its free workforce training programs, including culinary arts and warehousing/logistics. These programs mark the inaugural training sessions at the Food Bank's newly established Milford facility.

The culinary arts program, commencing on Tuesday, January 16, spans 14 weeks and is under the guidance of Executive Chef Tim Hunter and Chef Instructor Tish Badamshin. Students will acquire essential and advanced kitchen skills and participate in a two-week paid work experience. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to earn ServSafe® certification.

Starting on Monday, January 29, the 14-week L.O.G.I.C. (Logistics, Operations General Warehousing and Inventory Control) program provides comprehensive training in warehouse operations. Students will learn to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, end riders, and pallet jacks, under the supervision of a Warehouse Instructor. All participants can earn Certified Logistics Associate and Certified Logistics Technician credentials from the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council, alongside forklift and OSHA-10 certifications.

The Food Bank of Delaware offers extensive support to its students, including job placement assistance, transportation, uniforms and supplies, paid work experience, and textbooks.
