Lewes fireworks

LEWES, Del. – Fireworks enthusiasts on Delmarva can see something brand new this week. You can catch a little of the rocket's red glare over the Lewes Ferry Grounds on Tuesday, July 2 as Rocking the Docks hosts Coastal Delaware's inaugural July holiday fireworks show.

The evening will feature two full sets from Bruce in the USA, a Bruce Springsteen tribute band, followed by a large-scale fireworks finale. This marks the first time Rocking the Docks has included fireworks as part of the event.

Along with the music and colorful explosions there will also be a community market, food vendors, and local food trucks including:

  • DaNizza Wood Fired Pizza
  • Shore Island Empanadas
  • Changing Mains
  • Grandpa Mac
  • Cup R Cone Homemade Ice Cream
  • Pretzelvania

Gates open at 5 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 5:30 p.m. for general admission. The vendor market and food trucks will open with the gates, andmusic will begin shortly after.

Tickets are available online and event organizers warn that advanced purchases are "strongly encouraged" as it's expected to draw a big crowd.  Children under 12 are admitted free.

Evening Broadcast Journalist

Charlie Sokaitis moved to Delmarva to help kick off the morning news broadcast at CoastTV with CoastTV News Today and CoastTV News Midday in 2021. He's been a journalist since graduating from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2004.
