ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va.- Four men have been indicted in connection to a fatal shooting in Accomack County last year, authorities announced.
On Feb. 13, 2024, deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the 26000 block of Stumpy Lane in Onancock. They arrived to find 26-year-old Rashaun Anthony Brown of Onancock unresponsive with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Norfolk Medical Examiner later ruled his death a homicide.
After an ongoing investigation, indictments were issued on Feb. 28, 2025, leading to the arrests of four suspects on March 18:
- Tyvon Lyncurtis Smith, 32, of Virginia Beach – Charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, use of a firearm in a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Christopher Clovis-Weathers Monfiston, 32, of Chesapeake – Charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, use of a firearm in a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Kriq Nygee Weathers, 27, of Parksley – Charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, use of a firearm in a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Taquan Lee Bell, 26, of Accomac – Charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, accessory after the fact, and use of a firearm in a felony.
All four men are being held without bail, with Smith, Monfiston, and Bell at the Accomack County Jail and Weathers at the Virginia Beach City Jail.
