FELTON, Del. - Around 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, police arrested 21-year-old Nicholas Austin Stryker of Frederica on multiple charges after he disregarded a police officer signal that day.
Police say around 1 p.m. on Oct. 26, Stryker was driving westbound in the 100 block of E. Main St. in Felton. Stryker drove by police in a yellow motorcycle where he looked at the officer and pulled the front wheel of the motorcycle off the ground into a wheelie. The officer attempted to stop the motorcycle. Stryker looked back at the police car and made a hand gesture failing to stop. He again pulled the front wheel off the ground into another wheelie. Stryker was driving the motorcycle slowly and seemed to be stopping as the patrol got alongside the motorcycle, but Stryker tried to flee again. The handle bars of the motorcycle made contact with the passenger side door of the police car, which left a minor dent in the front door and stopped the motorcycle.
Police say the motorcycle was not registered and did not have any insurance on it at the time. The driver of the motorcycle was confirmed as Stryker, who turned himself into the Felton police around 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 26.
Police say Stryker was arrested and charged with disregarding a police officer signal, first offense, resisting arrest, malicious mischief by an MV, reckless driving, failure to have required insurance, failure to provide information at a crash scene resulting in property damage, operation of an unregistered MV, failure to use turn signal, failure to have license in possession and operating a motorcycle without complete attention.
Police say Stryker was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on $5,400 unsecured bond pending a later court date. Also, he was issued a no contact order with the the town of Felton.
