OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Ocean City Police Department is asking for the community's help in locating the owner of a guinea pig found on the Ocean City boardwalk on the evening of July 1.
The guinea pig is primarily white with one black spot by its left ear. According to the police department, the animal was found near Fifth Street.
"Our animal control officer was going down to the hotel down in that area to see if they could locate a guest that maybe realized their little guinea pig friend was an escape artist," said Ashley Miller with the Ocean City Police Department.
The department has said if no owner comes forward to claim the guinea pig, they plan to take the animal to the Worcester County Humane Society.
Anyone who can help is encouraged to contact the Police Department at (410) 723 - 6610.
