SUSSEX COUNTY, Del.- Things got awfully spooky Halloween night along the coast.
From homemade Halloween decorations to trick-or-treating, people around the county celebrated Halloween in all kinds of ways.
In Lewes, Kings Highway was shut down so kids could put on their spookiest costumes and fill up their bags with candy.
This was the first time Kings Highway was completely shut down for the event. According to the city's police chief, it is too early to tell if this will happen again next year- but he did say it was a possibility.
In Milford, one man took it upon himself to make his own decorations for his front lawn.
Joe Pusey on Governor Burton Court has been making his own decorations his entire life- and work on the current display began in July.
"It's (Halloween) just one time in a year that everybody can step outside the box and just be creative and be what you want to be for that one day," he said.
His display this year is based around movies- with some popular characters from films haunting his front lawn. The display also features homemade headstones that have the names of real life haunted places in Delaware.
Pusey says the work for next year's display is already underway.
