According to DSP, 52-year-old Eugene Marple broke into the fire station, located at 32628 Oak Orchard Road, during the overnight hours of June 4. 

MILLSBORO, Del. - Delaware State Police arrested a man from Harbeson on June 5 following a burglary at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company earlier this week.

According to DSP, 52-year-old Eugene Marple broke into the fire station, located at 32628 Oak Orchard Road, during the overnight hours of June 4. Troopers say Marple entered the building through an unsecured door, then damaged an office door, stole property and left the scene.

Detectives identified Marple through investigative efforts and took him into custody the next day without incident. DSP says Marple is not affiliated with the fire company. (DSP)

Marple was charged with burglary in the third degree, theft under $1,500, and criminal mischief under $1,000. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on a $3,500 unsecured bond.

The incident is still under investigation, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact Delaware State Police Troop 4.
