GEOREGETOWN, Del. - A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at the Howard T. Ennis School on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
The school serves students with moderate to severe disabilities between the ages of two to 22 years old.
According to the school, construction for the new 94,000-square-foot facility began in the fall of 2020 and was substantiality completed for students to begin classes over Christmas break. Due to delays in construction of the therapy pool, the school says the dedication ceremony was postponed until the 2023-2024 school year.
Services are provided for students who demonstrate a need for highly-specialized emotional support. The school says that educational services are provided by a trained and experienced team of teachers, therapists, nurses and paraprofessionals.
The school says that prior to opening the new facility, Howard T. Ennis had been housed in its previous facility in Georgetown since 1972.
