SELBYVILLE, Del. - The Indian River School District has announced three public meetings to inform people about an upcoming current expense referendum scheduled for Thursday, June 5.

The meetings will include a presentation by district leaders explaining the referendum.

Public Meeting Schedule:

  • Wednesday, May 14 – Millsboro Middle School, 7 p.m.

  • Wednesday, May 21 – Lord Baltimore Elementary School, 7 p.m.

  • Wednesday, May 28 – Indian River High School, 7 p.m.

All three events will be open to the public, and attendees will be able to ask questions during the sessions. In addition to in-person attendance, the meetings will be streamed live on the Indian River School District’s YouTube channel. Broadcast links will be available on the district’s website on the day of each meeting. Questions from online viewers will also be accepted during the livestreams.

The district says the referendum aimed to secure funding for increased operating costs and the recruitment and retention of staff. The first referendum this year with the school district failed with 4,749 in favor and 5,424 against.
