OCEAN CITY, Md. - Italian students arriving in Ocean City to work this summer received a special greeting from the Lodge of the Sons and Daughters of Italy.
Each year, university students from Europe, Asia and South America travel to our local beach towns to fill summer jobs. This year, 36 students have come to Ocean City from Italy. They will be working in hotels, restaurants and amusement parks across Ocean City.

The hungry travelers were greeted with a dinner of traditional American foods, including smoked brisket, fried chicken and mac and cheese. For dessert they shared a cake with "Italian buona estate a Ocean City" written on it. The phrase translates to "Have a nice summer in Ocean City."
One lucky student won a bike in the raffle hosted by the lodge, a popular way summer workers can be seen traveling around Ocean City. Tote bags filled with summer necessities were also gifted to the group.
