OCEAN CITY, Md. - One person was flown to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center after a jet ski crash involving multiple people and multiple personal watercraft in Assawoman Bay on Tuesday afternoon. 

According to the Ocean City Fire Department, the crash was reported at about 1:40 p.m. in North Ocean City.

Ocean City paramedics treated two people at the scene. One patient was transported by the Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for additional care.

During the response, firefighters assigned to Engine 4 used a nearby local's boat, allowing crews to quickly reach the people involved in the crash on the water. The Ocean City Fire Department thanked the neighbor saying, "We are grateful for the quick-thinking neighbor who helped our crews make rapid access to those in need."

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources Natural Resources Police and the U.S. Coast Guard also responded to the crash.
