CHESAPEAKE BAY, Md.– The start of 2024 will bring lane closures to the Bay Bridge.
From January 2 – 6, the eastbound span of the Bay Bridge may experience closures during the following times:
- Tuesday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning.
- Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following morning.
The MDTA says these closures are necessary to facilitate preservation and maintenance work on the bridge. During these closures, two-way traffic will be redirected to the westbound span..
Additionally, on Tuesday through Thursday, one lane of the eastbound span may be closed from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. During these partial closures, two-way traffic will also be directed onto the westbound span.
