CHESAPEAKE BAY, Md.– The start of 2024 will bring lane closures to the Bay Bridge.

From January 2 – 6, the eastbound span of the Bay Bridge may experience closures during the following times:

  • Tuesday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning.

Additionally, on Tuesday through Thursday, one lane of the eastbound span may be closed from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. During these partial closures, two-way traffic will also be directed onto the westbound span.

It's worth noting that lane closures may commence earlier than scheduled if traffic volumes permit. To stay informed about real-time bridge conditions, motorists are encouraged to call the toll-free hotline at 1-877-BAYSPAN (1-877-229-7726), which is available 24/7.
