Pleasant conditions are expected as the 101st Chincoteague Pony Swim gets underway. Herds of wild ponies take to the water today in the Delmarva tradition that draws thousands to the eastern shore. The following days see festivities such as the pony auction and fireman's carnival, all supporting the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company.
