LOVE CREEK ART

LEWES, Del. - On Tuesday, April 15, the gymnasium at Love Creek Elementary School was transformed into a vibrant art gallery as students, families, and staff gathered for the school’s “Night at the Art Museum” event.

Every student contributed a 2D painting or drawing, which was displayed along the walls and on tables, creating an immersive showcase of student talent.

“The students were very excited to see their work on display,” said Forest Allread, Love Creek Elementary art teacher. “The event created a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and showcase our students’ talents with their friends, families and the staff here at Love Creek.”

Thanks to a Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation grant secured by Allread earlier this year, the event also featured student clay artwork, with supplies funded through the grant.

“We are so grateful to have an organization like CHEF be able to contribute, and help make this event possible,” Allread added. “It’s my hope to make this a yearly tradition for our students!”

The Love Creek Parent Teacher Organization played a key role in organizing the event. “The Love Creek PTO is grateful to Mr. Allread, the Related Arts team and our parent volunteers for working tirelessly to make this event a success,” said Cindy Melaccio, LCE PTO officer. “Families don’t always get to see the amazing things our students do in school, and this was a wonderful opportunity for them to show off their beautiful and hard work.”
